Oh, yes. And to be honest, I'm quite happy with this 90% solution - the
exec() and the shebang ought to match anyway, so for normal +x'ed perl
scripts, it all works fine.

I was simply offering a counter-argument to the original suggestion that
perl has never broken back-compat before..
