A quick status update on 5.10.1: the schedule I posted below still stands, except of course that the 2 weeks for step 1 starts from now rather than Feb 23. I'm currently up to the beginning of January 2009 in terms of reviewing and merging blead changes. The catching up with blead seems to be a depressingly moveable feast.
