Applied to trunk. Notes that trunk now breaks out most of the CPAN
packages so CPAN::Shell is now lib/CPAN/Shell.pm -- fortunately, all
the rejected patch hunks for CPAN.pm applied cleanly to Shell.pm. I
tweaked one or two hunks (including fixing the CPANPLUS typo). I spot
checked many of them and they looked good -- but it was too much to
read through every single one. That was a big job. Thank you very
much.

Changed in trunk.

For reference for future patches, the (subversion) repository trunk is here:

https://pause.perl.org:5460/svn/cpanpm/trunk/

For those who prefer git, I am *TEMPORARILY* hosting a git repo that
tracks the CPAN.pm subversion repository (updated hourly). Andreas
and I are discussing moving it to a permanent location (perhaps
github) and switching new development over to git:

git://echo.dagolden.com/git/cpanpm2/

I presume that these changes can migrate into blead whenever Andreas
releases a new version of CPAN.pm
