This is the last message I see relating to adding CPANPLUS. Where is
that effort at?

What happened with the questions about finding a suitable IPC:: module
to work on any platform?

I've read through these old threads and still am not certain what's up:

  http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=20050323144332.GA13454@mccoy.peters.homeunix.org
  http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=a50c689e4ef7976ee72df2b0f2a88324@xs4all.net
  http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=989be176b24ac01bd3938268f311c7e1@xs4all.net

I also see this:

Note: CPANPLUS will not become a full drop-in replacement for
CPAN.pm. Instead, it will become part of the core in 5.10 under a
new (as yet undetermined) name and CPAN.pm will be deprecated. The
Classic shell provides the feel of the CPAN.pm user interface, but
no backwards compatibility to the coding interface is provided.

on http://cpanplus.sf.net; I hadn't previously seen any discussion of
a new name...
