DBIs & FileMaker Pro

Hello,
I have been asked to develop an intranet site that communicates with a
DB.
The server this site will reside on is Mac and since I have NO
experience with Mac OS I would really appreciate some expert help!
I have used Perl on Win32 platforms with DBI to access (predominantly)
Oracle DBs.
I have also done a lot of work with PHP, however from what I can find
PHP is not compatible with the OS the server is running.
From info on the net I was leaning toward MacPerl & DBI to find a
solution however I'm still not 100% sure if this will work on the
system, I have seen Andrew Witney's DBI/DBD proxies article on Chris
Nandor's page but am not sure if this is the best solution. If anyone is
able to tell me what libraries & driver combinations are needed, if it
is even possible with this system, or where to look I would REALLY
appreciate it.
Since the system is so old I'm having trouble finding info, and alot of
the pages I've been too have lots of broken links :( as they were
written years ago.
The system is as follows
MacOS 7.5.1
DB: FileMaker Pro 4.0
WebStar v2.0
This is a Japanese system
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!!
Regards,
Claire
