DBD Install Problem

I'm new to this list, I hope you are gentle here!

I searched the nntp archive and didn't find anything exactly answering 
my problem.

I recently had a major hard disc crash, and I've reached the final 
stages of getting things back, but i've run straight into a problem.

Previously, i was running the Complete MySQL distribution, however, I 
had previously installed the standard distribution and successfully 
installed DBI and DBD::mysql. I swapped to the Complete MySQL because 
of it's  Preference Pane.

This time I have re-installed Complete mySQL and set up my data bases 
and Grant tables. DBI installed manually with out problems. DBD, 
however, will not install, complaining that it cannot find 
mysql_config. The mysql_config file is installed, although in 
/usr/library/mysql/ and not in /usr/local/mysql/, although complete 
mySQL does put a symlink to the /usr/local path. If I do a Makefile 
with the -L and -I flags set it appears to install, however make test 
fails ALL tests (0.00% pass).

Does anyone have any experience of installing DBD::mysql with Complete 
MySQL and can tell me what is going wrong?
