Job title: Catalyst Web Developer

Description:
The Web Developer contributes to all phases of the product development
lifecycle and provides technical development and support skills to the
product team.	This position requires a continually growing knowledge of
(and comfort with) Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, Perl, Catalyst Framework,
Javascript, HTML, XML, CSS and AJAX. 

•	Create and update Perl, Javascript, and HTML code on all company
and product Web sites (Production, Staging, Load-Balanced, etc.)
•	Develop and update effective, maintainable, and stable code for
assigned projects on time.
•	Participate in maintenance and/or bug fixes.
•	Contribute to software development design discussions for new
features and new product development.
•	Help analyze and solve technical issues impacting Web site
performance.
•	Work with multi-department team members to develop and roll out
product feature releases on applicable Web sites.
•	Research and recommend improvements to existing Web systems.
•	Participate as an active contributor to the weekly ITADS (IT and
Data Security) Team Meeting.
•	Provide documentation for each project on the testing plan and
results through wiki’s, team blogs, and Perl MakeTests.
•	Test out new and innovative coding techniques and share gatherings
with the team.
•	Meet the expectation of a consistent work schedule agreed upon with
the Technical Project Manager.
•	Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:
•	2 or more years of design, development and support of web
applications; specifically Perl
•	Experience working with source code version control such as git or
svn (git preferred)
•	Willingness to attempt innovative approaches to software
development with the team.
•	Motivated to learn and can pick things up quickly and independently

•	Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
•	Work effectively in an individual and team environment.
•	Ability to translate functional requirements specifications into
code.
•	Use of technical knowledge and experience to suggest better
standards for existing and future projects.

Desired skills:
•	Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field
•	Documentation skills 
•	Extensive experience with any of the following is a plus:
•	Object-oriented Perl using "Modern Perl" conventions
•	Catalyst, Moose, Template::Toolkit, Rose::DB::Object, Test::More
•	JavaScript toolkit libraries such as ExtJS, jQuery, Prototype, YUI
