Description: We are a small company looking for a software developer to
play a key role in the development of the company’s video encoding and
streaming platform.

PLEASE NO AGENCIES!

The role is to assist as part of a small team in design and development of
all parts of the in-house software system for delivering video and other
services to mobile devices.

We are willing to consider any candidate satisfying the essential skills
below – range of skills and experience will be a factor but the most
important qualities are enthusiasm, initiative, communication and
willingness to learn.

Required skills:
Essential skills (must have all of these):
2+ years Object Oriented Perl 5
Linux
SQL
Subversion
XML/xHTML
Good written and spoken English
Team working skills

Highly desirable (must have at least some of these):
Catalyst
DBIx::Class
Moose
Test Driven Development
CPAN author/contributor
Familiarity (and ideally interaction) with Perl community – mailing lists,
IRC, etc
Familiarity with Modern Perl practices
Amazon Web Services
video encoding/streaming

Desired skills:
Beneficial (none of these are required, but experience of any could be
advantageous):
SOAP/XML-RPC
JavaScript/AJAX
C++
Java
