Based in London, our client is a trailblazing e-commerce business seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Perl Developer to join their existing Technical Development team. Working in their vibrant head office you will be joining this market leading online entertainment company, giving you the chance to work with some of the most creative and techie minds in the industry. As a Senior Perl Developer, your key objective will be to focus on the implementation and development of new online products and services and maintenance of existing cutting-edge websites and streaming features. You will have further responsibilities including: • Development work for the company’s extensive fulfillment and operational technical infrastructure in addition to its web products • Ensuring delivery of long term project work and task based incremental improvements • Contributing to the quality of delivery including the development, integration, test and release infrastructure • Working with 3rd Party Suppliers to ensure that software is efficiently implemented • Contributing to technical consultancy and advice to the technical and management teams as required Required skills: The key skills needed for success in this challenging role are: • High level of application development using object oriented Perl on Unix platforms • Particular knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL or other widely used SQL database product • An understanding of emerging LAMP technologies • Experience in an Agile Development environment • Excellent communication and leadership skills Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/14588#contact
