Description:
OPPORTUNITY:
Lions Bay Media is looking for a full time Junior Software Developer to
join our team. We offer a casual, professional work environment and

powered by advanced open source components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Design, develop, and deploy software in a production environment
-Write technical documentation
-Integrate systems with third-party APIs
-Manage multiple tasks simultaneous and meet tight deadlines
-Write unit tests, perform manual testing
-Work closely with QA
-Software maintenance, diagnostics and bug fixing
-Front end development including HTML/CSS and user interface design
-Some PC maintenance and troubleshooting

REQUIREMENTS:
-Degree or diploma in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent
education/experience
-One or more years of previous professional programming experience
-Familiar with various design/development methods including OOP,
event-driven programming, etc.
-Knowledge of several programming languages such as Perl, JavaScript, PHP,
Ruby, Java, C++, Python
-Skilled with web technologies including HTML and CSS
-Knowledge of SQL/noSQL, key-value stores, database design, and software
such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
-Familiar with web application frameworks such as Mojolicious, Rails,
Struts, etc.
-Knowledge of web service technologies including SOAP/WSDL, JSON-RPC, REST
-Familiar with user interface libraries such as SmartClient/SmartGWT,
ExtJS, KendoUI, etc.
-Knowledge of test driven development
-Comfortable using version control systems such as Subversion and Git
-Competent with Linux/Unix shell
-Strong theoretical knowledge including software engineering principles,
algorithms, data structures, etc.
