Description:
Analyst Programmer – Perl/Web (2-5 years): 
Major pharmaceutical company is seeking a professional and enthusiastic
Perl, and Oracle developer for a long term contract position. 

Responsibilities: 
• Work cooperatively with current development team on software and database
to support work of clinical microbiology group. 
• Develop and maintain oracle database and web frontend for use by
researchers to study HIV, HCV, Influenza, etc … 
• Collaborate with scientists to develop scripted tools for analysis 
• Participate in the basic requirements collection, design review, coding,
testing, troubleshooting and support for custom developed software
solutions 
• Format, QC, and loading data from clinical drug trials into databases

Required skills:
• Applicants must have a scientific degree (Computer Science, Software
Engineering, Biology, Computational Biology, etc.) or comparable training
with at least 2-5 years of work experience. 
• Previous work experience in biological research is preferred 
• Experience with ORM and Web Frameworks in Perl (Moose, DBIx::Class,
Catalyst, Dancer), also open to possibility of using Python for development

• Experience developing and optimizing schemas for Oracle 
• Experience developing on Linux systems 
• Ability to build web applications based on the provided design documents 

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Ability to work independently, be detail-oriented, and have excellent
analytical skills

Desired skills:
• Experience using BioPerl, BioPython, or BioJava programming 
• Experience with SAS programming
