Description:
Programmer for Compliance Technology Department of a brokerage and trading
firm at our headquarters in Greenwich, CT. The candidate will have 3-5
years experience with Object Oriented Perl as well as strong software
design skills. He or she should be able to think in abstractions and
develop class modules in perl. People with only perl scripting and no
object oriented design experience in perl should NOT apply for this
position.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, test and maintain object-oriented PERL modules
* Design perl interfaces into various database systems using DBI or
Rose::DB::Object.
* Develop and maintain web-based tools
Required skills:
* Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or
Information Technology is required.
* Knowledge of UNIX or LINUX based operating systems
* Object Oriented Programming in Perl 5.8.x
* Ability to read some JAVA, C or C++
* Knowledge of SQL, preferably Oracle is required
* Basic knowledge of desktop applications
Desired skills:
* Familiarity with perl testing module Test::More and an understanding of
designing tests for perl modules;
* Familiarity with perl xml modules such as XML::Twig;
* Familiarity with test driven development and other design
methodologies for developing reliable software;
* Experience with writing POD documentation for modules and
* Familiarity with JavaScript and various frameworks such as prototype,
Jquery or Dojo
* Familiarity with cgi or mojolicious
