As an Linux System Administrator (aka Application Support Engineer) you
will: 

• Participate in cross-departmental project teams to achieve company goals 

• Provide a single point of contact between assigned development team(s)
and infrastructure teams 
• Become a subject matter expert for the operations of systems owned by
assigned development team(s) 
• Develop software to monitor, deploy, or integrate applications 
• Build software, documentation and procedures to manage daily operational
needs of assigned development and support team(s) 
• Mentor and train team members to perform day-to-day maintenance and
system analysis 
• Recommend modifications to existing systems in order to enhance
processing time, reliability, scalability, and ease of deployment 
• Work with assigned development teams to identify and resolve common
failure scenarios 

And you will have the following qualifications: 

• 3+ years of strong UNIX/LINUX Systems Admin experience 
• Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical
constituents 
• Ability to work as part of a team 
• Detail oriented with strong analytic and organization skills 
• Strong knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, Unix Shell programming, computer
networking and at least one other scripting language such as Perl 
• Self-motivated and committed to the successful and timely completion of
assignments 
• Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities and tasks 
• Ability to work weekends evenings and holidays as needed 
• Knowledge of Apache server configuration a plus 
• Experience with Java a plus 
• BS degree in Computer Science or relevant field desired
