Description:
A very successful company is looking for solid Sr Level OO Perl Engineers.
There are both Lead and Sr positions available. This company is in the
early stages of designing, building out, enhancing and testing 25+ systems
that monitor, analyze, manage, operate, install, build and report on
several very large data center global automation operations and very high
volume mission critical distributed applications. These systems will
interface and gather large amounts of data in various formats (primarily
traffic flow and performance), from 2+k servers/networking devices and
several large mission critical distributed applications, cleanse the data,
convert, verify, manipulate, load large volumes (100-200 million rows) of
data into MySQL databases and export data in various formats to several
different locations. Furthermore, the company is building systems that
handle data center automation, asset management, security management, event
management, change management, hardware/software provisioning, index
searches, build and release management systems, server and application
installs, hardware/software/inventory change requests and portals. All of
these 25+ systems are being built within a WebServices SOA using SOAP and
REST. The Sr Engineer may also provide application support in
troubleshooting issues related to several integrated 3rd party
applications, including Siebel, Netcool, realops, and OVO. The Engineer
will be responsible for the full SDLC of these systems including design of
complex workflows and related forms, build out of processes, development
and testing of systems. These systems are primarily built using OO Perl on
Linux with MySQL on the backend.

Required skills:
Requirements:
Candidate MUST be at the expert level with OO Perl. Company will accept
expert OO PHP and/or C/C++ developers that have proven experience
developing operations monitoring systems as described above. Please note
these systems must be detailed in resume to be considered.
Experience developing system operations applications is a big plus.
BS and/or MS in CS, Engineering, Math, Physics or equivalent
Must have experience with operating systems (preferably Linux)
Experience developing scaleable enterprise high volume data processing
systems is a plus
Should have experience with database theory and structures (preferably
MySQL or Postgres)  
Ability to troubleshoot bottlenecks, tune and optimize MySQL databases is a
big plus.
Any networking experience is a plus. Ability to write systems that
interface with networking/load balancers/server/applications and pull
traffic flow and performance data is a big plus.
Any experience building WebServices using SOAP and/or REST is a plus.
Should have experience writing Unix shell scripts
Experience with Web 2.0 is a plus
Any experience with Siebel, Netcool, realops, and OVO is a plus
Any experience writing SQL and PL/SQL or developing Crystal for reporting a
plus
