For the non-USA readers - Americorps/VISTA is a federal government
program mostly directed towards young people just graduating from
university (or sometimes high school).  It's not really a job, it's more
of a volunteer position, and VISTA isn't a company in the normal sense
of the word.  Think "students in dorms working on a worthwhile project"
rather than "someone trying to support a family."  It's very much like
an internal Peace Corps, sometimes (but not always) including things
like food/housing. 

I'd disagree with the people who have objected to it being posted here.
IMHO, posting this sort of thing is entirely appropriate and useful here
as long as there's Perl involved.
